Tide Slide is a mechanism that can be used to fix floating oil booms to vertical structures such as docks, pilings or piers. The Tide Slide assemblies are designed to roll up and down a fixed beam to adjust for tidal fluctuations and waves. All components on the tide slides are resistant to seawater corrosion.
Versatech provides 2 types of tide slides.
The I-beam and roller assembly slides on a marine grade aluminum or ss316 beam which is attached, with anchor bolts, to the end of the pier.
The rod and polymer slider are cost effective alternatives. The ss 316 rod with a diameter of up to 2 inches (50 mm) and height of 10 ft (3 meter) is anchored at the 2 ends to the wall and allows the boom to move freely with the tide.
The height of the tide slides will allow for tidal fluctuations, combined with waves, a vertical range of 2 to 6 meters.
